tomato
Tomatoes are available all year round in greengrocers, street markets and supermarkets. The best taste is from tomatoes grown in the UK- the more locally the better!! You can also grow your own in a greenhouse or a sunny spot in your garden/ patio/ windowbox. Surprisingly, cooked or processed tomatoes may be better than raw ones because cooking makes it easier for you to absorb something called lycopene from the tomatoes. Lycopene may help protect you against cancer, heart attacks and strokes. A good reason for eating pizza and tomato ketchup (but probably not together).
